Cayman Brac District Committee: Guided Hike
Our Cayman Brac District Committee of the National Trust for the Cayman Islands (CBNT) is offering a *FREE* community guided hike & walk, next weekend on Saturday, June 14th!
The Splits are an important source of fresh water for local fauna and migratory birds. We will park across from the Bluff View Store (carpooling encouraged) and set out promptly at 7am. This hike is a bit more advanced than the others we’ve done. The very first part requires a little scrambling to get on top of the bluff. The footing remains sharp limestone for the entire quarter mile (375m) hike in, and will likely take about 25 minutes. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, bring a full reusable water bottle, and a walking stick if you don’t have great balance. When we reach the pool, you have the option to scramble down to it. Then we’ll return whence we came for a half-mile (750m), 1 hour round-trip. Join us to experience the beauty of many of Cayman Brac’s endemic and native species, both flora and fauna!
All are welcome! Please wear appropriate footwear, hats, and sun exposure protection. We hope to see you and a friend or two, out next Saturday morning at 7:00am! 🙏🏼
