National Trust and National Gallery Collaborate to Showcase the Beauty of Native Plants

The National Trust for the Cayman Islands and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands have collaborated with film maker/photographers David Hartwell and Bill Ferehawk to raise awareness about the beauty and importance of Caymanian plant life. The result of an international artist-in-residency programme at the Gallery in 2019, the exhibition is entitled Homegrown and it showcases a series of plant ‘portraits’ that capture the uniqueness of local plants, while also revealing their wider significance within Caymanian culture. The project will be supported by a wide-reaching community programme in February and March that is designed to celebrate the richness and diversity of our natural environment.
