National Trust Fundraiser “Saving Our National Treasures” Raises Over $65K
The National Trust for the Cayman Islands hosted its biggest fundraiser of the year, “Saving Our National Treasures,” on 3 May at Cayman Collections Centre. The event was a resounding success, raising just over $65K, thanks to the generosity of attendees, members, sponsors, and dedicated supporters, all aligned with our shared goal of safeguarding our national treasures.
The evening was filled with live music by Caryn Caffarelli, engaging conversations, exploring artefacts and exhibitions, interactive kiosks featuring the National Trust App, inspiring speeches, and a shared commitment to the preservation of our natural and built heritage. National Trust Patron, H.E. Governor Jane Owen, was in attendance. Attendees had the opportunity to bid in our live auction, led by James Bebarfald, a silent auction, and purchase raffle tickets. The focal piece in our live auction was a custom piece, “Blue Majesty” by Pam Laurenson from Stoakd, as part of her Melting Pop Collection. The stunning artwork features a Blue Iguana comprised of a mosaic of local and international stamps. Funds raised are directed towards our mission of preserving our natural and built heritage.
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, Platinum Sponsor: DART, Gold Sponsors: Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, Silver Sponsor: CI Shipping Registry, and Bronze Sponsors OAC Advisors, and Ministry of Border Control, Labour & Culture. Event Sponsors: Grand Cayman Distillery, Celebrations, Cayman Collections Centre, Cayman Islands Museum and all local businesses that donated prizes to our auction and raffle.
