Cayman Brac District Committee: Community Beach Clean Up

Join us for our 24th consecutive Cayman Brac Community Beach Cleanup, which is *THIS* upcoming weekend on Sunday, June 8th, to celebrate World Ocean Day! ♻
We will be meeting at 5:00pm at a private beach entrance (with permission from the owner) on the South East Road, just East of the Bubble House. This is a DIRTY beach, full of LARGE marine debris, plastic bottles, shoes, and microplastics. If you are one of the first to arrive and are an able-bodied individual, please start your cleanup far to the east or west of the beach access, in order to allow the closer area for those less mobile. There is parking available inside the beach entrance along the south side of the road, just please be mindful parking along the road and ensure your car is facing West to go with the flow of traffic.
As usual we will provide a cooler of cold water to refill your reusable bottles, a first aid kit (if necessary), and hand sanitizer. We recommend wearing appropriate exposure protection, footwear for the sand/coral rubble/ironshore, and your own reusable gloves. Bring a picker or a staff/cane for stabilization along the rocky beach if you need it.
📸 Group photo at 6:30pm by the big pile of trash which we will pile up inside the parking area of the beach access. 📸
Please share this flier and event with anyone whom you think may be interested in joining us – hope to see many of you community members out there this weekend! 🙌
PS – Katie Ebanks’ WhatsApp contact info is listed on the flier, to share with anyone who wishes to join our Community Beach Cleanup WhatsApp chat. Please feel free to contact her if you have any additional questions, comments, or know of a beach in need of a clean!
