Donate clean & bright conch shells
The West Bay National Trust Committee invites the public to donate clean & bright conch shells.
The clean & bright conch shells will be used at Nurse Leila’s House in West Bay.
Individuals who may *already have* conch shells (of their own) in their own yard are welcome to donate. Those enjoying & respecting the conch season may also donate.
Kindly note: Our Conch Season in our Cayman Islands begins 1 November and ends 30 April.
Kindly note: The legal daily limit for possessing conch during the open season is five per person or 10 per boat each day, whichever is less.

A few conch shell cleaning tips below, provided by Ron Ebanks
Once the conch is fully removed from the shell:
1. Fill a 5 gallon bucket with fresh water and 1/2 Gallon of bleach
2. Place the shells in the bucket for at least 2 hours (overnight is also fine)
3. Remove the conch shells from the solution & remove any sea debris/algae by using a hand scrubbing brush. (5 minutes per shell)
4. Rinse the shell with fresh water and let dry (before storing inside)
