Each committee is led by an elected Chairperson, who serves for a one-year term, and is supported by members of the district who have a vested interest in the neighbourhood in which they reside.
The work of each district committee is to establish goals and propose projects for the Trust within each district, promote the preservation of local heritage, monitor the condition of its district properties and report to the National Trust Council any threats to heritage sites, among other duties.
