Governor’s Conservation Awards: Finalists 2021
We are delighted to announce the finalists for the Governor’s Conservation Awards 2021. The event will be hosted by His Excellency the Governor Martyn Roper at Government House . The award categories include: Conservationist of the Year, Tourism Industry Conservation award, Heritage Preservation award, and Lois Blumenthal Youth Conservationist award.
The finalists are:
Julia Hislop for the Heritage Preservation award
Ally McRae for the Heritage Preservation award
Cayman Kayaks for the Tourism Industry Conservation award
Estefania McDermot for the Lois Blumenthal Youth Conservationist award.
Dinara Perera for the Lois Blumenthal Youth Conservationist award.
Bill Lamonte for Conservationist of the Year Award
Tanja Laaser for Conservationist of the Year Award
A special Certificate of Recognition will be given to Dart for their corporate efforts specifically in the conservation of Cayman’s endemic plants through the West Indies plant nursery and for their achievement of LEED certification.
Thank you to all of those who submitted a nomination. There was a great list of nominees and while all are not finalists, the National Trust for the Cayman Islands salutes them for their efforts in heritage and environmental conservation for the betterment of our community and future generations to come. Their hard work has been noticed and is appreciated.
