National Trust Saves Dates for Largest Fundraising Events of 2019

The National Trust for the Cayman Islands has announced the dates of both its major fundraising events for 2019: Hatitude will occur on Sunday 27 January and the Glow Run on Saturday 30 March.

Hatitude, a fun family brunch, will take place at Grand Old House under the theme ‘Birds of the Caribbean’. “Hatitude is a wonderful community event that brings all together in support of a good cause,” said Nasaria Budal, Marketing Manager at the National Trust. “We’re excited to see how the attendees will incorporate our bird theme into their hat designs this year.”

Jacques Scott have come on board as the proud sponsor of the much-enjoyed bubbly for the 2019 Hatitude brunch, and the National Trust is so appreciative of their generous support.

The Glow Run 5k will occur on the eve of Earth Month in April and is expected to attract close to 800 walkers and runners who will race through the streets sporting glow-in-the-dark wear and accessories. The Trust is taking necessary steps to reduce the number of plastic products used throughout the upcoming run and future events. “We are looking into sourcing products that are made from recycled materials or are recyclable in some way,” Budal added.

While these events are slated for the first quarter of 2019, the Trust team are actively planning several of its more intimate events through the end of the year, including Bats & Bonfire and a mid-term camp at the Mission House in October; its members-only Christmas Mingle and a Christmas Lights Tour in December; and monthly Teen & Adult Cooking Classes.

The National Trust’s events are heavily subsidised by corporate sponsorship, which offsets the costs and allows all registration fees to be applied directly to the efforts of the Trust. Corporations wishing to sponsor events in any capacity should contact Nadia Hardie, Executive Director, at director@nationaltrust.org.ky.

More information and dates for all events can be found on the Trust’s website and on Facebook/NationalTrustCaymanIslands.
