Sentinels in the fight against Climate Change
Join us for a special virtual event brought to you by CIGO-UK, the Cayman Islands Department of Environment and the National Trust for the Cayman Islands during #LCAW2022 featuring Ian Redmond OBE, renowned wildlife conservationist and Ambassador for the UN Convention on Migratory Species, and others, highlighting the importance of bird migration to the global ecosystem. Birdsong is a natural wonder with the dawn chorus signalling the start of the day, however, birds are also the sentinels of any changes to their environment, signalling alterations in the biological condition of ecosystems, including those resulting from a changing climate. The event will also discuss the new Motus posts to be installed in the Cayman Islands which will enable better understanding of bird flight paths and support conservation efforts globally.
